Barcelona still interested in Thiago Alcantara

Spanish giants Barcelona remain hot on the trail of Bayern Munich playmaker Thiago Alcantara, Bild can reveal.

The Catalans surprisingly decided to let the talented midfielder move to Allianz Arena back in July 2013 and they have clearly regretted the decision.

Barcelona have since made several attempts to bring Thiago back to Camp Nou, and they are pondering a fresh assault.

However, Bayern Munich have no intention of selling their star player as witnessed by the comments from sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.

“Thiago only extended his contract until June 2021 last year. He is a leader for us. I am not fazed by the transfer talk at all,” Salihamidzic told Bild.

Since arriving in a €25 million deal, Thiago has produced 21 goals and 23 a…

Kenyan-born Germany international Linton Maina has made a stellar rise to prominence over the past couple of months.

His rapid progress caught the eye of the English Premier League giants Manchester United, it is being reported.

Maina only made his first Bundesliga start on Friday as he took part in Hanover’s goalless draw against Borussia Dortmund. The 19-year-old was also given a run in a 1-1 stalemate at Werder Bremen a week before and has turned plenty of heads with his displays.

German media outlets are now reporting that Manchester United have turned their attention to the player who went through all youth levels of the German national team.

Though still eligible to represent a country of his descent, Linton Maina has already received call-ups fo…

Borussia Dortmund are willing to sell Emre Can in the summer transfer window, according to . The former Liverpool midfielder is out of contract at Dortmund at the end of the 2023-24 campaign, but the German club are willing to cash in on him now.

The Germany international has made 14 starts and three substitute appearances in the Bundesliga so far this season, scoring three goals and providing one assist in the process.

Dortmund are second in the Bundesliga table at the moment with 57 points from 28 matches, nine points behind leaders and defending champions Bayern Munich.

Liverpool v Man Utd: The quickest English title wins within reach for Klopp´s men

Manchester United will hope to dent Liverpool s hopes of making English top-flight history when the two meet at Anfield on Sunday.

Valverde not worried about Suarez drought

Ernesto Valverde insists he is not worried about Luis Suarez s goal drought after he once again struggled in Barcelona s 0-0 Champions League draw at Lyon.

Uruguay international Suarez was excellent in the first half of the season, but he has been rather less effective in front of goal since then, and that is reflected in Barca s form, having now drawn four of their last five games in all competitions.

Suarez was lively in France against Lyon in the opening leg of their last-16 clash, sniffing out a few opportunities, but his finishing left a lot to be desired and he looked visibly frustrated on numerous occasions on Tuesday.

It was the fifth game in a row Suarez has not scored in, while he passed 24 hours of playing time in the Champions League without an away g…
